Mel shares why she joined Zing Wellbeing to help her become a mum
Mel shares, "I have been wanting to be a mum since I got married in 2014.
I have struggled with emotional eating battles as I have been wanting to be a mum so badly now I am getting older. I get down every month that my period comes instead of being pregnant. So constantly battling with those emotions.
That’s why I love the Zing Wellbeing community as it is so supportive and there are so many opportunities and experts to offer advice.

Mel Timbs shares her struggle to become a mum
Because I was on depo provera injection to help stop my period and with birth control. I had to wait for my period to come back which took about 10 months at the time. After they did finally came back I had trouble with extremely irregular periods.
I eventually started seeking help with a GP and specialist as they got worse over time lasting 20-30 days sometimes.
My doctor's got me onto tablets that boosted my weight loss which I ended up losing 20 kilos between late 2023 and 2024.
Losing this amount of weight helped stop my periods being so prolonged and become less irregular.
Now I have been working on boosting my fertility with more exercise, healthier eating, folic acid and better mindset thanks to Zing!
I have also been working on general health as I would love to be a mum so much more now I am in my late 30's. I am loving the Zing Wellbeing progam as it is not just focused on weight loss . Which I feel I need to get back on track for 2025.
I have always struggled with mental health issues like depression it comes and goes.
I have also struggled with binge eating disorder at some stages as well.
I am now constantly working on my mindset for the better which I feel is getting better one step at a time.

Being a Zing Wellbeing member Mel was able to ask our Nutritionist for her advice on fertility recently
During a recent LIVE chat with our nutritionist Mel Larkings, Mel was able to ask her own personal question to seek further advice.
Mel asked, "What are best foods or recommended Zing Wellbeing plans or recipes that help fertility."
Nutritionist Mel shared
Good fats are a great ingredient when TTC.
"The anti-inflammatory or liver meal plan will assist or even the mental health plan as having all those good fats may help fertility."

I also absolutely love the Zing Wellbeing protein powder, so yummy and versatile.
I don't only just use for smoothies but love mixing it as a dessert alongside dairy free yogurt.
