How Jess feeds her family on a budget!
All up I spent $130 and ended up with 53 serves, as well as leftover staples. Pretty good if you ask me!"
Another week, another meal prep! I am super excited to try out the Gut Health recipes and see how they help my bloating!
I can be a bit fussy with food and have sensory issues with eating, but I’m trying to push myself to try new things - the Satay Tofu recipe is definitely not something I’d usually go for but it was DELICIOUS!!! Hubby even tried some as he walked past and came back for seconds.
What Jess says about Zing Wellbeing
53 gut health meals for under $130
Here’s what Jess made from the NEW Gut health meal plan which are all budget friendly, super healthy for your gut and so easy to make.
All these delicious dishes from the new gut health meal plan cost under $130.
- 4 x Raw Cacao Chia Pods
- 14 x Homemade Granola
- 12 x Snack Muffins
- 4 x Satay Tofu & Cauli Rice
- 4 x Tuna & Rice Poke Bowls
- 10 x Green Potato Soup (portioned as double serves)
- 5 x Creamy White Bean Soup
The Tuna and Rice Poke Bowls from the Gut meal plan are something I’ll be making time and time again, a new fave for sure!
I did this prep in bits and pieces throughout a super busy day, with multiple kids sports and therapies, and everything is so easy and simple to make without compromising on flavour.
All up I spent $130 and ended up with 53 serves, as well as leftover staples such as brown rice, nuts, flax meal etc that I can use for future weeks. Pretty good if you ask me!
Jess shares her 3 top tips to keep your meal plan on budget:
- Try some vegetarian options as meat - eg the Satay Tofu recipe was super cheap but super delicious!
- Shop your pantry first! I had leftover chia seeds from the high protein meal plan, so the chia pods used those up!
- Buying in bulk is often cheaper, so making double or triple batches is cost effective as well as saving time.
