“I didn’t recognise myself anymore”: how Sally transformed her health, confidence and gut health with Zing Wellbeing
There comes a point where so many women look at a photo of themselves and think… who even is that anymore?
That was exactly how Sally Pennifold, from South Australia, felt before starting her health journey with Zing Wellbeing.
Fast food multiple times a week. Constant bloating and IBS symptoms. No energy. No motivation. No confidence. Exercise felt impossible and even stairs became overwhelming.
But what makes Sally’s story so inspiring isn’t just the physical transformation.

It’s the fact she finally began feeling like herself again.
And if you’re currently struggling with weight gain, gut issues, low energy, emotional eating or feeling stuck in a rut, Sally’s story might just be the motivation you need today.
“I hated photos of myself”
Before joining Zing Wellbeing, Sally says she had completely lost confidence.
“I was a person I didn’t recognise. Fast food at least 3-4 times a week and a lot of fried or battered foods. I had a horrible gut and suffered a lot of IBS symptoms.”
Like so many women, life had become busy, exhausting and overwhelming. Convenience foods became the norm. Movement disappeared. And emotionally, things became harder too.
“I didn’t like pictures being taken and posted. I guess in a way I hated myself but wasn’t motivated to do anything about it.”
Physically, everyday tasks felt difficult.
“I parked as close as I could to places, whinged at the prospect of a walk and stairs were way too hard.”
Mentally, she says she was stuck in a cycle of emotional eating and low motivation.
“I was in a rut, had no motivation and probably used food as a tool to satisfy my feelings. Usually a pack of Doritos or salt and vinegar chips.”
Sally was also managing Myotonic Dystrophy, which made movement and muscle pain even more challenging. Exercise had become non-existent.

Trying “everything” before finding something that actually worked
If you’ve ever felt like you’ve tried every diet under the sun, you are not alone.
Over the years, Sally had attempted multiple weight loss programs and diets.
“Jenny Craig, Lite n’ Easy, Michelle Bridges, Dukan Diet and anything else I could find.”
But like many restrictive plans, they felt difficult, exhausting and impossible to maintain long-term.
“Working full time took up all my time and fast food was a quick option.”
Then one night, something changed.
The moment everything changed
While scrolling Facebook at a friend’s house, Sally came across Zing Wellbeing.
At first, it was simply curiosity. But after exploring the program properly, something felt different.
“The meals seemed simple and uncomplicated.”
That mattered because sustainable healthy eating shouldn’t feel overwhelming.
And after seeing photos of herself that shocked her, she realised she was finally ready for change.
“I don’t think I realised how much weight I was carrying.”
That week, she joined a gym and hired a personal trainer.
But what helped her stay consistent was finally having a program that felt realistic for real life.

The biggest changes Sally noticed
The physical transformation was incredible, but the emotional and mental changes were just as powerful.
Sally began meal prepping. She started moving her body again. She felt more in control around food. And perhaps most importantly, she stopped feeling hopeless.
For many women inside Zing Wellbeing, this is where the real transformation happens.
Not perfection. Not extremes. Just small, manageable changes that begin building confidence again.
Why gut health became such a big focus
One of the biggest struggles Sally mentioned was ongoing IBS symptoms and poor gut health.
This is something we hear from thousands of women.
Bloating. Digestive discomfort. Low energy. Feeling sluggish after meals.
That’s why gut health is such a huge focus inside Zing Wellbeing, with dedicated Gut Health and Anti-Bloat meal plans designed to support overall wellbeing through nourishing, balanced meals.
Inside the program, members have access to gut-friendly recipes, anti-bloat meal plans, high-protein meal options, hormone balancing meal plans, dairy-free and gluten-free options, plus smoothies designed to support energy, digestion and overall wellness.
Importantly, the recipes are designed for busy women who want healthy eating to feel achievable.

The real secret? Small changes add up
One thing we absolutely love about Sally’s story is that she didn’t wake up one day and become a completely different person overnight.
She simply started.
One healthier meal. One walk. One better choice. One week of consistency.
And over time, those small actions became life-changing.
At Zing Wellbeing, we truly believe wellness isn’t about punishment or perfection.
It’s about learning how to support your body in a realistic, sustainable way.
