You can absolutely lose around 4kg before Christmas, but more importantly, you can do it in a way that makes you feel stronger, more vibrant and genuinely well from the inside out.

Focus on your gut first

Your gut is the foundation of everything - digestion, metabolism, mood and even immunity.

When it’s out of balance, you feel it everywhere: fatigue, bloating, cravings and stubborn tummy fat.

The first step is to get your digestion back on track.

This combination helps your body burn fat efficiently while keeping hormones balanced and mood steady.

Move your body with intention

You don’t need to do punishing workouts to lose 4kg - but you do need consistency. Aim for 30–45 minutes of movement most days, mixing strength training, walking, Pilates or swimming.

Strength training is especially important for women over 35, as it helps preserve lean muscle, improve bone density and increase metabolism.

The more muscle you have, the more calories you burn even at rest. Think of exercise as a way to boost energy and confidence, not just as a calorie burner.

Manage your stress and prioritise rest

If you’re constantly exhausted, wired or not sleeping well, your body will struggle to lose fat.

High stress raises cortisol, which tells your body to hold onto weight - especially around the tummy.

Build in small daily rituals that calm your nervous system: a 10-minute evening walk, a herbal tea before bed, deep breathing or journaling. Good sleep helps regulate hunger hormones, improves digestion and supports better recovery from exercise.

Stay consistent, not perfect

You don’t need to give up all the festive fun to make progress. Focus on being consistent 80% of the time.

Stick with whole foods, move your body daily, get quality sleep, and drink plenty of water. If you have a few indulgent moments, enjoy them without guilt and simply return to your healthy habits the next day.

Progress isn’t about perfection - it’s about momentum.
