How Brooke lost 36kg with Zing Wellbeing: Her inspiring weight loss journey
Losing weight and improving your health doesn't have to mean following an extreme diet or completely overhauling your life overnight.
For Zing Wellbeing member Brooke, it has been about consistency, finding healthy meals she actually enjoys, having the support of a community and continuing to make positive choices even when life hasn't gone according to plan.
After almost 19 months with Zing Wellbeing, Brooke has achieved an incredible 36kg weight loss and is now just 8kg away from her goal weight.
Her journey hasn't always been straightforward. Health challenges have interrupted her routine and temporarily changed what she has been able to do, but rather than giving up, Brooke has adapted her goals and continued focusing on her long-term health.

Here's her story.
Brooke's 36kg weight loss journey
When Brooke joined Zing Wellbeing, she wasn't looking for another quick-fix diet.
She wanted to create a healthier lifestyle she could actually maintain.
Almost 19 months later, Brooke has lost 36kg.
She says:
"Hey guys, I'm Brooke and I have lost 36kg following Zing Wellbeing. I have 8kg left until I reach my goal weight."
Rather than relying on highly restrictive eating or short-term weight loss strategies, Brooke has used the Zing Wellbeing meal plans, recipes, challenges and community to help her stay consistent.
For Brooke, one of the biggest differences has been finding an approach that fits into everyday life.
"Zing Wellbeing has been such an amazing, positive program. I love my annual membership, the recipes, the support and the value for money. The community is amazing."
Why sustainable weight loss is about more than the number on the scales
A 36kg weight loss is an incredible achievement, but Brooke's story also demonstrates something we talk about frequently at Zing Wellbeing: a healthy lifestyle isn't about being perfect every week.
There will be holidays, stressful periods, busy weeks, illness and unexpected health problems.
Sustainable weight loss is about developing habits you can return to when life gets in the way.
For many women, this may include:
- Eating balanced, nutritious meals
- Prioritising protein and whole foods
- Planning meals ahead
- Finding enjoyable ways to move
- Setting realistic weight loss goals
- Getting adequate sleep and recovery
- Having support and accountability
- Focusing on consistency rather than perfection
This is one of the reasons a slower, sustainable approach to weight loss can be so valuable.
Instead of thinking, "I've fallen off track, so I've failed", you can simply begin again.

Dealing with health challenges while trying to lose weight
Brooke's journey has been particularly challenging over recent months because she has also been dealing with several health issues.
Since March, her priorities have understandably shifted from simply losing weight to supporting her overall health and recovery.
Under medical care, Brooke has been managing kidney stones and other health concerns. During this period, she continued using Zing Wellbeing meal-planning tools to help structure her meals while following the advice of her healthcare team.
Brooke recently received some very welcome news: based on her current medical assessment, she does not require kidney surgery at this stage.
Some kidney stones remain and she continues to be monitored by her medical team, while she is also preparing for another procedure relating to fissure tears.
It's an important reminder that weight loss doesn't always need to be the number-one priority.
If you're recovering from illness, surgery or another medical condition, your nutrition and exercise requirements may change. Always follow the advice of your doctor or appropriately qualified healthcare professional, particularly when managing kidney disease, kidney stones or another medical condition.
Getting back into exercise after time away
As Brooke continues her recovery, she isn't trying to jump straight back into an intense exercise schedule.
Instead, one of her goals is simply to start walking again.
Her September target is to walk at least three days each week while continuing to recover.
This is a great example of setting goals based on where you are right now, rather than comparing yourself with what you could do six months ago.
Walking can be an excellent way to gradually increase daily movement, and you don't necessarily need to do intense workouts every day to work towards a healthier lifestyle.
As your fitness and health improve, exercise can gradually progress according to your individual circumstances and medical advice.

Brooke's September health and weight loss goals
Rather than setting herself an unrealistic target, Brooke is keeping her September goals achievable.
1. Start walking again
Brooke aims to walk at least three days per week while she continues recovering.
2. Get back to meal planning
She plans to follow her Zing Wellbeing meal plans and make the most of the current challenge to give herself additional structure and accountability.
3. Aim to lose 1–2kg
There's no crash diet or dramatic target.
Her philosophy?
Slow and steady.
4. Reconnect with the Zing Wellbeing community
This one is particularly important to Brooke.
After spending time away while dealing with her health, she is looking forward to getting back into the community and posting regularly again.
"Most importantly, I want to get back to the Zing community and back to my normal posting as I missed everyone so much being away. I'm excited to be here and can't wait."
The importance of support when losing weight
Weight loss is often presented as something we need to accomplish entirely through willpower.
In reality, support and accountability can make healthy habits much easier to maintain.
Knowing there are other women experiencing the same challenges can make a significant difference, particularly during the weeks when motivation isn't as high.
The Zing Wellbeing community was created to provide women with a positive place to share their wins, ask questions, find inspiration and, importantly, talk about the times when things aren't going perfectly.
Brooke's journey is a perfect example.
She hasn't had 19 months where everything has gone according to plan.
She's experienced health problems. She's had time away. She's needed to change her goals.
But she's still here.
And she's still 36kg lighter than when she started.
What can we learn from Brooke's 36kg weight loss?
Perhaps the biggest lesson from Brooke's story is that successful weight loss doesn't require perfection.
You can have setbacks.
You can take time away.
You can change your goals.
You can have weeks where your priority is recovery rather than weight loss.
What matters is developing a healthy lifestyle you feel able to come back to.
Brooke still has another 8kg she'd like to lose, but instead of racing towards the finish line, she's concentrating on the habits that helped her get this far.
Healthy meals.
Regular movement.
Accountability.
Community.
And consistency.
Congratulations, Brooke. We can't wait to follow the next chapter of your journey.
