Yummy flavour packed Meatballs good for your tummy health

These delicious Swedish Meatballs are super good for your gut and tummy health with only 14g carbs and 34g of protein they are PACKED with healthy gut loving ingredients.

The ingredients are all rich in high-quality protein for muscle repair and growth. Provide essential B vitamins (B6, B12) supporting energy metabolism. Contains zinc and iron for immune function and oxygen transport.

Swedish Meatballs

Serve: 4

Ingredients 

Meatballs:

  • 900g mince pork 

  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs

  • 2 eggs

  • 3 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

  • 1/2 tsp cardamom

  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg

  • 1/2 tsp ground allspice

  • 2 tsp garlic powder

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 1/2 onion, diced

  • 1 tsp olive oil

Sauce:

  • 5 tbsp butter

  • 3 tbsp flour

  • 2 cups beef broth

  • 1 cup greek yoghurt

  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard

  • Salt + pepper to taste

Method:

Sauté onion in a little olive oil until translucent. 

In a large bowl combine all the meatball ingredients and spices with sauted onion and form into balls.

Place onto the baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes. Set aside. 

To make sauce: Melt your butter in a pan and add the flour. Continuously whisk and slowly add in the broth then yoghurt.

Add worcestershire and Dijon and bring everything to a boil. Simmer until the sauce thickens. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Add the cooked meatballs to the pan and simmer for a few minutes before removing from heat.  Serve with steamed vegetables or rice.
