Chewy chocolate and peanut butter bark - a healthier treat alternative

This Date Peanut Butter Chocolate Bark is a naturally sweet, nutrient-dense treat you can make at home in minutes. Made with medjool dates, natural peanut butter, dark chocolate and almonds, it’s packed with fibre, antioxidants, healthy fats and plant-based protein - so you can indulge without guilt.

This recipe is perfect as a post-workout snack, a lunchbox addition or a wholesome dessert that still feels decadent.

Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • 20 medjool dates

  • ½ cup natural peanut butter

  • ¾ cup dark chocolate chips (plant-based if preferred)

  • 2 tbsp coconut oil

  • ½ cup chopped almonds

  • Sea salt, to taste

Method

  1. Cut the dates open, remove pits if necessary, and arrange them on a parchment-lined tray in a rectangle shape.

  2. Lay another piece of parchment paper on top of the dates and gently flatten them into an even layer.

  3. Peel off the top parchment and spread peanut butter evenly over the date layer.

  4. Sprinkle chopped almonds on top of the peanut butter.

  5. Melt the dark chocolate chips with coconut oil until smooth. Pour over the peanut butter and almond layer.

  6. Finish with a sprinkle of sea salt and any extra chopped almonds.

  7. Freeze for 2–3 hours, then slice or break into small pieces and enjoy!
