Chocolate Banana Mug Cake Recipe

Serves: 1

Preparation time: 5 minutes

Cooking time: 1-2 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 ripe banana, mashed
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1-2 tbsp of your preferred sweetener (such as monk fruit or stevia or natvia)
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp vanilla extract (optional)
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions:

In a microwave-safe mug, mash the ripe banana until smooth.

Add the cocoa powder, sweetener, egg, baking powder, vanilla extract (if using), and a pinch of salt to the mug. Mix well until all ingredients are combined and smooth.

Microwave on high for about 1-2 minutes, or until the cake has risen and is set in the middle. The exact time may vary depending on your microwave, so start with 1 minute and add more time if needed in 15-second intervals. Optionally, bake for 15-20 minutes at 180°C.

Let the mug cake cool for a minute before enjoying. You can eat it directly from the mug or invert it onto a plate.
