Why our mental wellbeing matters so much in our overall health

Hey ladies - Rhian here and I want to talk about mental wellbeing as it really is so important for each and every one of us and I wanted to echo the sentiments that Bernie Fanning shared before too.

So many women here have battled mental health issues and it is so important to me that Zing Wellbeing talks about this and supports and acknowledges that everything is not always perfect and the reality of life is that we can all really struggle but often we don't talk about it and I applaud all the women who do talk about it and normalize these struggles.

I too have suffered and I understand first hand the impact that stress and anxiety can have on our wellbeing which is one of the many reasons I am so passionate about Zing Wellbeing covering all areas of health - both mental and physical.
I’ve been in that place where everything feels heavy. Where you’re just going through the motions, feeling stuck, flat, overwhelmed—and exhausted in a way that sleep alone can’t fix.

I've been there where I didn't care about my health, what I ate, what I did or anything other than just getting through each day and stopping the immense sick feeling I had through crippling anxiety.

What I have learned (and which isn't rocket science) is that when my mental health isn’t in a good place, everything else becomes harder and my health falls by the wayside.
And when I am in a bad place mentally the weight piles on.
And I am sure many of you feel the same.

This is why, when we talk about health at Zing Wellbeing—whether it’s weight loss, fitness, hormones, gut health, or energy—mental wellbeing has to be the number one focus.
Because if we’re unhappy, overwhelmed, or just mentally struggling, we can’t expect ourselves to show up with consistency, discipline, or joy.

Not because we’re lazy or unmotivated, but because we’re running on empty.
I have literally transformed my life so that my mental health is my number one focus. As I finally understand that this really is the key for my overall health.

I changed my goals. I changed my job. I changed what I ate. I changed how I exercise. I changed my sleep. I changed how I live. I removed the toxicity and stress from my life. I changed every area of my life and I also started seeing food as medicine not just as fuel.

Yes I also lost a heap of weight but that really was a small part of it and I am so grateful to now know what I know and this knowledge will see me never go back.

But I must add that that doesn't mean I never have bad days - I do! Especially in the menopause but now I have the tools to manage any bad days and I understand what is going on when I have a bad day.

Zing wellbeing has changed the way I look at everything and I am so grateful to be here in this holistic health space with you and I hope you too are learning so much from what we are doing too and why you MUST put your mental health first.
So if you’re reading this and you’re in that place—please know you’re not alone and please always seek out professional help too.

So today, I just want to say this: if all you do is protect your peace, be kind to yourself, and take one gentle step forward—you’re doing more than enough.

Thank you ladies for being here - I appreciate it so much and I will never stop working my socks off to provide everyone here with as much support and tools as possible to feel in your best health possible

Rhian xx
