Brooke made 8 family friendly meals for under $90

Brooke shared her recent grocery shopping and meal prep efforts, and we were totally amazed!  Check out this fab cook up for under $90. 




What's On Brooke's Shopping Docket?


Brooke spent around $89.23 for 8 different meals, that's on average $11 a meal! 

Brooke shared, "Today I spent time meal planning using what I had left over & I did a great meal prep, quite productive if I do say so myself. 

I love how the Zing Wellbeing app features many amazing recipes & I find using any type of meat mince a great way to budget and create high protein recipes.

I did have the spices, nacho chips, left over cheese, garlic and ginger & zucchini, and some sauces such as soy, but if you had to buy them extra it would be around $120 in total.

If you had to buy every ingredient, if you didn't already have it, you would only need a small grated $6 cheese bag for the nachos and sweet potato boats, and some spices are just $2 and cheap, and then go towards future recipes, which then brings your next food shop cheaper.

Pork mince:
♡Sticky ginger meatballs


Chicken Mince:
♡Gave me chicken & Rosemary Meat Patties in 2 variations
♡Burger patties x2 meals for the kids
 
Extra add ons from docket:
♡Fruit: Mandarins for some snacks over the weekend
♡Vegetables will be a side for the meatballs
♡wraps become vegetarian quesadillas


NOTE: Brooke took $12 off her shopping for dog food and toilet paper as that is separate to her food shop.

Brooke's top tips for meal prep


My top tip regarding meal prep is, it's ok to repeat meals on a different day and use extra serves as another meal.

You don't need to prep all the meals at once. It can often take me an hour to make just three recipes, including the kitchen clean up.

Do it in stages to make it easier for yourself!
